Dragon*Con

Howdy all!

Just an update to let you know that I will be at this year's Dragon*Con! I have some gallery space in the Art Show, so you'll see some special edition prints of mine there for auction. I'll also have some regular prints in the prints shop.

I'll also have some cards with me with artwork on them, and if you run into me and are one of my watchers or friends from deviantART, say hello! :D We'll chat! Talk shop! I'll give you a card with my artwork on it and a message saying how much I love you!

It's weird, if you type 'dragon' into the search engine on DA your picture comes up as the most popular of all time. And well deserved too!

But looking at you main page, your pageview counter seems oddly low.

There's no real point to me saying the above, I just thought it was a little unusual and am merely talking out loud.

It's nice to meet a popular DA member who is not so swept-up in themselves for a change and actually replies to messages people leave on their page. It's very refreshing!

Anyway, keep up the amazing work. :)

Eh, I wouldn't call myself popular. I get faved a lot, but my individual pics have had a lot more exposure than I have. Also, I'm not sure how the search engines decide popularity but I do think it probably has to do with titles and keywords. Since I tend to be pretty basic ("dragon," "phoenix" etc), my stuff probably shows up more frequently.

I don't reply to every comment but I try to get to as many as I can. I also don't get an overwhelmingly high number of comments. These artists with hundreds of thousands of pageviews--they probably get a *lot* more than I do. I can see how it would be time-consuming.

I do think, though, that having communication between the artist and viewers is really one of the nicest features of DA. It's great to be able to ask an artist a question about a piece or a technique, and get an answer. :)
