Regent of Air and Darkness, this is Beelzebub, a rendition of the Devil. She also goes by the names of Lucifer and Woland, and like the god Shiva, she has four arms. The hourglass holds the souls of innocents she has corrupted...
EDIT: Print now available. Due to limits on the aspect ratio, the border around the image has been altered in the print version.
OMG, super ... most like the cylinder, it is known goth always notice it first ^ ^ But it is also beautiful hourglass. I do not know what is going on behind his back ... He has two pairs of hands or someone's hands?
OK, one more thing. There is so much cleverness and feeling hidden in this picture that is not noticed at first sight. So many layers of intrigue and subtlety...every element works together to form this masterpiece. Deceptively simple, but if you take the time to look at it you'll notice more and more things. Brilliant!
I know you have already gotten a bunch of high praise for this, but I have to give mine as well...
I love this take on Beelzebub/Devil. There is a subtlety and charm to her that you don't expect. Almost inconspicuous. Also, even thought it is a woman, I like how there is sort of an androgyny to her (at least, that's what I got). Everything about it I think hits the Devil as a persona dead on!
Wow! I never known her, but she's seems to be one of the unique characters in a way. As soon as I saw your account, I watched you right away. I can tell that every single picture you made took hours to do! Well done! Oh, and just to mantion I don't have photoshop... so yeah, my art isn't as advanced as yours. And my age is young.
Thank you very much! Yeah, she is a fun character. As for photoshop--just keep practicing digital and traditional art. I didn't actually start using photoshop much until I was in college; my background is in traditional art (oil, acrylic, pencil, charcoal). If you have a practiced eye and hand it will be useful no matter what medium you use. So, practice practice practice!
Okay. I do have photoshop- but my dad doesn't let us use it. It sucks because there is these certain numbers you must type in to unlock photoshop. I don't know it, so I'm stuck with MS Paint and some other program- similar to photoshop- but more simple. I had the chance when I had a vacation and my Uncle let me use photoshop... I didn't have the guts to put it up on dA. Ugh. That was my only chance and I ruined it! XD My sis is panicking. She is making these comics, you see... and she wants Photoshop badly.
In any case I like how this turned out... I've always had a fondness of nonstandard numbers of limbs...
I love the hair and the gloves... spectacular. The lace is amazing too. As is the black widow themed dagger she's balancing.
I once designed a character similar, though with a looser Beelzebub concept... he had 12 arms, 10 of which were hidden under his large royal fur cape.
