Artist's Comments

I've always been fond of foxes of Japanese folktales. The more tails they have, the more powerful, with the nine tailed fox being the oldest and strongest. Like tanuki, foxes (or "kitsune") are tricksters and masters of transformation.

Ninetails's face makeup is based on Japanese fox masks. Her design is inspired by nine tailed fox bosses in Otogi and Okami.

They take a very long time. This one wasn't as time consuming as some of the others. The dragons are the worst.
