It's finally done! The mighty phoenix, King of the Birds. He is beautiful, powerful, and eternal. He is also prideful, and this flaw led him to challenge the ancient dragon, at whose claws he met defeat.

Yet he is immortal and forever aflame. One day, he knows, the dragon will falter, and the Bird King will rise from the ashes...

... etc. :)

Done in an eastern style, with peacock feathers courtesy of :iconmaplerose-stock: (whose beautiful white peacock photographs you should look at -- they are marvelous!).

The right wing is not fully opaque... :/ the clowd on the background shows a bit... >__>

other than that... it's great! ;)

The flames from the tail are very nice as well!!

Sweet. The flames look awesome, especially near the middle of the tail. Must say, one of my favorites yet. Of course, I also just like phoenixes.
